How the CS2 Market Cap Tracker Works

The Skinbase CS2 market cap tracker compares the price, active listing quantity, and estimated listed value of Counter-Strike 2 items on a selected marketplace. What CS2 market cap means on Skinbase

In traditional finance, market capitalization uses an asset price and its circulating supply. The complete circulating supply of CS2 items is not publicly available, so Skinbase uses a narrower and verifiable measure: listed inventory value on the marketplace you select. For each item, the current provider price is multiplied by the number of active listings reported by that provider.

This provider-specific approach matters. Marketplace prices and listing depth can differ, and adding inventories from several sites could double-count items listed or moved between venues. Provider totals exclude phase-only duplicates, while phase-specific entries can still be inspected in the item table.

How to read CS2 price, supply, and trend data

Each metric answers a different question. Read them together rather than treating a large market-cap figure or one green percentage as a complete market signal.

The active listings visible in that provider's latest snapshot.
Market cap

The seven-day mini chart adds recent price context for each row. Above the table, the larger charts track the selected provider's total listed value and listing quantity across periods from 24 hours to all available history. Comparing both charts can show whether a move coincides with changing listing depth, but it does not establish why the move happened.

Missing historical comparisons appear as unavailable rather than being estimated. Short-term price changes can reflect new listings, removed inventory, thin markets, updates, or ordinary volatility, so longer windows and the exact item variant provide important context.
